Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet either of the following eligibility criteria (A or B):

Eligibility (A)

• A Master’s degree with 55% marks in Punjabi from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree.
• Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test like SLET/SET.
• Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
• Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009, are also exempted subject to specific conditions (regular mode Ph.D., evaluation by two external examiners, open viva-voce, two research publications, and two paper presentations).

Eligibility (B)

• A Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (QS, THE, or ARWU).

Note: A 5% relaxation in marks is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-abled categories.

Selection Process

The academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) will be considered for short-listing candidates for the interview. The final selection will be based solely on performance in the interview.
